Interview with Morten Harket in today's VG:
Morten Harket about the a-ha farewell – Never been more creative.
Morten Harket has not started regretting a-ha’s ending.
- "We have never been more creative than we are now, and there are so many ideas, and then I think this is a good time to end", Morten Harket says to VG Nett.
Morten Harket was in Stavanger yesterday granting an a-ha million to the winner Susanne Sundfør.
- "But millions are not sufficient. What is at the bottom and what makes we have nominated Susanne, is talent. But you can have as much money you want, but without talent that will never be sufficient", Harket says.
What would it have meant to a-ha if you got a million at the beginning of your career?
- "In many ways we did that. Not in the form of money, but we had a record company supporting us. And we were discovered at a time it was possible to make it big. It is not like that anymore, and therefore we do hope we can give others this opportunity", Harket says.
a-ha is rapidly getting closer to the end, and Harket thinks it is a tough program, but he is not exhausted.
- "Not now. But surely there are evenings tougher than others. This is a very intense accomplishment year. It is not always perfect, but that is what is live. And we are very live. Some evenings we are down on our knees, but that is how it is supposed to be. If anyone think each time supposed to be perfect, then they don’t know what it means being live", Harket says.
The a-ha vocalist says the support from the fans is overwhelming.
- "It is fantastic. It is incredibly fun getting the instant response we do experience . It is a wawe of response which is absolutely fantastic", Harket says.
What are you going to do next year, when a-ha is no more?
- "That is impossible to say, that is so long into the future", he says.
